Setting Up Your Front Page
Setup The Static Front Page
When you first activate EduPro, your homepage will display posts in a traditional blog format. To set up a static front page like our demos, follow these steps:
- Go to Pages > Add New and create a page.
- Go to the Settings > Reading and set Front page displays to A static page.
- Select the page you created in step one as the Front page, and, if you plan to have a blog as well, choose another page as the Posts page to display your blog posts.
Front Page Sections

The top slider is available not only for the front page, but also for all pages. See this page to know how it appears.
Top slider is created by the Revolution Slider. To create a new slider, go to Slider Revolution > Add New:
There you can create any slider type you want. For more information about creating a slider, please follow this guide.
If you imported the demo content, you will see some sliders we made for you.
In case you want to manually import a slider from our demos, unzip the theme file
edupro.zip, you will get the theme folder
edupro. Then go to the subfolder demos > any subfolder and select a subfolder, you will see a file named
slider.zip which is the slider content.
Then go to Dashboard > Slider Revolution, select Import Slider:
And select the
slider.zip file above and import!
After creating or importing a slider, you need to edit a page (in our demo, it’s the main homepage) and select that slider in the Top Slider box at the bottom of the page:
The topbar left and right are 2 sidebars: Topbar left and Topbar right. To add content to the topbar, please go to Appearance > Widgets.
Recommended content for the topbar: text, custom menu, social links and login/register links.
To know more settings for the top bar, please go to Appearance > Theme Options > Top bar).
You can add a custom logo by going to Customize > Site Identity and uploading your own logo image.
The main navigation appears at the top right of every page of your website. On tablet and mobile devices, it will be hidden behind a toggle button. To set it up, simply create a new menu in Appearance > Menus and assign it to the Header location.
To display icons in the menu, simply copy the HTML markup for the icon and paste it in the menu title, like this:
EduPro supports mega menu in case you want to show your courses or posts in a better format in the menu. Here is an example of what it appears (hover menu on the Courses menu):
EduPro also supports more advanced mega menu by Max Mega Menu plugin and here is a demo:
To enable the theme built-in mega menu style (not Max Mega Menu), make sure you:
- Check the checkbox Enable mega menu when editing a menu item (the top-level menu item)
- Select number of rows to display posts
- Each submenu item must be a term (category, project category, course category, etc.). Posts/Projects/Courses under that term will be get to display in the mega menu.

Front Page Content
In EduPro, we use Visual Composer to build the homepage and other pages on the website. To get started with Visual Composer, please follow this guide.
EduPro comes with some shortcodes that we made specifically for the theme. Please refer to the Shortcodes section to understand each shortcode and how to configure them.
Please note that if you already imported the demo content, then you already have it set up. You can start playing with them and change them to fit your requirements.
Footer Widget Areas
By default, EduPro has 4 widget areas (sidebars) in the footer. Each widget area is a column. To add content to the footer, go to Appearance > Widgets, drag and drop widgets to Footer 1-4 sidebars:
Note that we already made some widgets for you to display contact info, social links, … Please refer to the Widgets section to know how to configure them.
Footer Copyright Text
To change the footer copyright text, go to Appearance > Theme Options > tab Footer and enter your text:
The footer menu appears at the bottom right of every page of your website. To set it up, simply create a new menu in Appearance > Menus and assign it to the Footer location.
